"Do You Believe?"

“Do You Believe?”

 

Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life.  Those who believe in Me will have life even if they die.  And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die, Martha, do you believe this?”  Martha answered, “Yes, Lord.  I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the One coming to the world.”          John 11:25-27

 

Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, all of who were friends with Jesus, had died. When he was close to death, Mary and Martha sent for Jesus, but Jesus waited to go to them, because He was going to work an AWESOME MIRACLE, that would CONFIRM who He CLAIMED to be and who He ACTUALLY WAS/IS.

 

When Jesus arrived, He learned that Lazarus had already been dead and in the grave for four days.  Martha went out to meet Jesus, and said to Him.  “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would NOT have died.   Jesus told Martha, “Your brother will rise and live again.”  Martha said that she knew he would rise and live again in the RESURRECTION on the last day. 

 

But Jesus wanted Martha to KNOW that HE was the RESURRECTION and the LIFE.  Without Him there is NO HOPE for OUR RESURRECTION or ETERNAL LIFE.  We ALL would DIE a SPIRITUAL DEATH and be DOOMED to HELL.  But for those who BELIEVE in Christ Jesus, they will have LIFE, even if they DIE (physical death).  And everyone who LIVES and BELIEVES in Christ, will NEVER die.  Then Jesus asks Martha a very CRUCIAL question:  “Martha, do you BELIEVE this?”

 

Martha’s CONFESSION of her BELIEF, was three-fold, she answered.  “Yes, Lord I BELIEVE that You are: (1) the Christ, (2) the Son of God, (3) The Coming One.”  Martha had a STRONG FAITH and KNEW without any doubt that Jesus was EXACTLY who He CLAIMED to be.  Do you agree with Martha’s assumption of who Jesus REALLY IS?  DO YOU BELIEVE that He is who He CLAIMS to be?

 

If your answer is YES!  Then you will be a part of the COMING RESURRECTION of God’s Children, and will have ETERNAL LIFE in Heaven.  But should your answer be NO!  Then you will NOT be a part of His RESURRECTION and you will be SPIRITUALLY DEAD, in Hell, with ALL its HORRORS.  In order to CHANGE your destiny from HELL to HEAVEN there are some things you MUST DO.  First of all; you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle.  Then you MUST TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  Then you MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and that He is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  You then, MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and BELIEVE in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, with ALL your HEART.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON.
