“The Overcomer”

 

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.   But take heart! I have overcome the world.”        John 16:33

 

Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, John 1:5, says; The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has NOT overcome it.  DARKNESS is the sin that is prevalent in our world today.  But DARKNESS cannot OVERCOME the TRUE LIGHT, which is the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Light dispels the darkness.  So when a person comes to Christ for the FORGIVENESS of their sins, they are brought out of the DARKNESS (sin) and into the GLORIOUS LIGHT of Jesus Christ.  

 

This truth is found in 1 John 5:4, of God’s Holy Word:  “For everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”  We, who are TRUE BELIEVERS, can be OVERCOMERS in this dreary, wretched world in which we live.  Romans 12:24 give us an example of how we can be an OVERCOMER.  It says:  “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  1 John 4:4, says; “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”    So, “who is it that OVERCOMES the world?  Only the one who believes that Jesus is the SON of GOD.” (1 John 5:5)  They are the OVERCOMERS.  Are you an OVERCOMER? 

 

Have you ever given your HEART and LIFE to God?  If NOT, then you are a LOSER, one who loses out on spending an ETERNITY in Heaven, but WILL spend an ETERNITY in Hell, with ALL its horrors, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  In order to ESCAPE Hell, you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, NOW, and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  And CONFESS your sins to Him asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then you MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and LIVE for Christ Jesus, and become an OVERCOMER, through the blood of Jesus Christ.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
