"Godliness with Contentment=Great Gain!"

“Godliness with Contentment = Great Gain!”

 

 

But GODLINESS with CONTENTMENT is GREAT GAIN.  For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.  But if we have food and clothing, we will be CONTENT with that.  Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.  For the LOVE of MONEY is a root of all kinds of evil.  Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.         1Timothy 6:6-10

 

The Apostle Paul was NOT condemning people who were rich, but was making a point that when people put their riches or the desires for riches ahead of God’s desires for them, they are in great danger of ruin and destruction. 

 

He was indicating that GODLINESS and CONTENTMENT equals GREAT GAIN.  When we were born, we came into this world with NOTHING, and when we die we take NOTHING out of it.  Therefore, to put your WHOLE HEART and CONTINUAL HARD WORK, and when nothing else or no one else means anything to you, and you put ALL you are and ALL you have into storing up riches, you are creating an idol for yourself.  Which is definitely NOT a part of God’s plan for your life. 

 

Those who have such a tenacious desire to get rich will most likely fall into temptation and a trap with many foolish and harmful desires, which can plunge them into RUIN and DESTRUCTION.  They may not be CONTENT with what they have and desire MORE, so they will use whatever means they can to accumulate more at any cost.   Even doing things that are UNGODLY. 

 

The Scripture says: “The LOVE of money, not money itself, but the LOVE of it is a root of ALL kinds of evil.”  And those who are set on making a fortune, to the point that nothing else matters, even those who maybe believers, are in danger of being ‘PIERCED with MANY griefs. 

 

We all need money to survive in this world, however when the LOVE of MONEY becomes an obsession to the point that you will do ANYTHING to get, not just what you need, but what you WANT, then it is definitely a SIN, and you are on your way to RUIN and DESTRUCTION with MANY griefs along the way. 

 

GODLINESS and CONTENTMENT equals GREAT GAIN, because they will bring about ETERNAL RICHES, which will NOT rust, rot, or decay, but will last throughout ETERNITY.  They are the RICHES that will bring JOY, CONTENTMENT, and GREAT GAIN, but ONLY to the TRUE BELIEVER.

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are NOT a TRUE BELIEVER, and you do not have any ETERNAL RICHES stored up in Heaven, but are headed down the path to HELL, the place of pain, agony, torment, torture, and misery.  You NOW have the opportunity to come to God with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and live in GODLINESS and CONTENTMENT, and begin storing up your ETERNAL RICHES in Heaven.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
