Breakfast with the Risen Lord!
Then the
disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord! When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord,
he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and
headed to shore. The others stayed with
the boat and pulled the loaded net to the shore, for they were only about a
hundred yards from shore. When they got
there, they found breakfast waiting for them—fish cooking over a charcoal fire,
and some bread.
“Now come
and have some breakfast!” Jesus
said. None of the disciples dared to ask
Him, “Who are You?’ They knew it was the
Lord. Then Jesus served them the bread
and the fish. This was the third time
Jesus had appeared to His disciples since He had been raised from the dead.--------John
21:7-9,12, 13, 14
What an ABSOLUTELY
AWESOME way to START your day, having
breakfast with the King of kings, and Lord of lords, but not only having
breakfast, but what about the fact that He has PREPARED it for you and is going
to SERVE it to you. Now I don’t know how
you feel about that, but it would knock
my socks off if Jesus was at my house, when I wasn’t there and prepared a meal
for me so it would be ready when I got home.
That’s kind
of what He did here in these verses of Scripture. The disciples had been out fishing all night
and hadn’t caught a thing, now that sounds like some of my fishing experiences.
Nevertheless, they were tired and hungry, they had had a LONG weary night and probably
were anxious to find something to eat and then rest for a while. When all of a sudden they see a figure on the
beach, probably waving at them, Then He says, “Catch any fish?” and of course
they answer back, “No!” So He gives them
instructions on fishing, now these men were probably well seasoned fishermen,
but they must have been so discouraged that they were willing to take advice
from anyone. So Jesus proceeds to tell
them to cast their nets on the right-hand side of the boat, they did and ended
up catching 153 BIG fish and their net did not tear.
When they
all had made it to shore, they saw that Jesus already had some fish cooking
over a charcoal fire, and some bread waiting for them. He asked them to bring some more of the fish
they had caught, then Jesus, Himself SERVED them.
It was Jesus
Who was on the shore WAITING for them. It
was Jesus Who had PREPARED a meal for their hungry body. It was Jesus Who INSTRUCTED them in the RIGHT
direction to catch the fish. It was
Jesus Who SERVED them.
If you have
not given your HEART and LIFE to God, I’m here to tell you that; it is Jesus
Who is WAITING for YOU to come to Him, it is Jesus Who has PREPARED a home for
YOU in Heaven, It is Jesus Who is willing to INSTRUCT YOU in your walk with
Him, it is Jesus Who will SERVE YOU with the cleansing of His precious blood,
and all you have to do is: CONFESS your
sins to GOD, asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING with ALL your HEART that
Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in
Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of
SALVATION and start having breakfast with the Risen Lord, every morning. Do it NOW, while you STILL can. He’s WAITING!!!
