Eagerly and Patiently Waiting

 

Be patient, then brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.  See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.  You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.--------James 5: 7-8

 

 

I have heard some say that the next climatic event that will take place is the RAPTURE of God’s Children from this old, sin-ridden world.  And God’s Children are looking with bated breath to that time when we are caught away and actually see Jesus, the one who made it ALL possible.

 

I love James’ analogy of the Lord’s coming with the farmer waiting for the land to yield its crops and he says that the farmer waits PATIENTLY for the autumn and spring rains, that he knows must come in order for the land to yield those valuable crops. 

 

So we, God’s Children need to be like the farmer, we too must wait PATIENTLY for the Lord’s return.  That doesn’t mean that our work is over, just the opposite we must be about the Lord’s work and CONTINUE to LABOR till He comes.  The farmer doesn’t stop his labors until the crops come in.  He tends to the land and takes care of the seedlings and he EAGERLY and PATIENTLY awaits the rains, knowing that he will reap a harvest of crops.  The Child of God, too must tend to the crop of souls, some plant, some water and some reap, and we ALL have something to do to see a harvest of souls for God’s Kingdom. 

 

James then gives us instruction as to how we are to wait.  He says we are to be PATIENT and STAND FIRM, because the LORD’S COMING IS NEAR.  HALLELUJAH!!  We must be PATIENT and STAND FIRM in our FAITH.  Times will become increasingly harder, especially for God’s Children, but we must be GROUNDED in what we BELIEVE and WORK EAGERLY towards the harvest, because the time is coming when mankind’s work will cease and the Lord God will REAP the HARVEST of SOULS. 

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are NOT EAGERLY and PATIENTLY waiting for the Lord’s return, as a matter of fact, you either don’t believe in it, or you FEAR the very thought of it and avoid even thinking, much less talking about it.  And you should FEAR it, if you are NOT a Child of God.  But you NOW have the opportunity to change your view of it and be FREE from the fear you might have by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and you too can EAGERLY and PATIENTLY await the LORD’S COMING.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s WAITING and COMING!!!
