The Wicked and the Righteous

 

 

Though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be eternally destroyed.  For indeed, Lord, Your enemies---indeed, Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered. 

The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.  Planted in the house of the Lord, they thrive in the courts of our God.  They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green, to declare:  “The Lord is just; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”--------Psalms 92:7, 9, 12-15

 

 

Some wonder why the wicked prosper and the righteous, seem to struggle in this present life.  These verses have insight to the future of both the wicked and the righteous.  The first couple of verses tell us that the wicked sprout like grass and ALL evildoers flourish, but then immediately it states that they will be ETERNALLY destroyed.  ALL of God’s enemies will perish.

 

However, the righteous will THRIVE like a palm tree and GROW like a cedar tree in Lebanon.  They will be PLANTED in the house of the Lord, they will THRIVE in the courts of our God.  The future of the righteous is a considerable difference to that of the wicked.  The righteous will be PLANTED in the house of the Lord, this will be their ETERNAL destination, and their condition will be that they will THRIVE in His courts.  They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green,  in other words, they will be made NEW in EVERY WAY,  they will be HEALTHY and STRONG and will declare:  “The Lord is just; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

 

The time for God’s justice to be pronounced on this old, sin-ridden world is coming SOON and for the wicked the future is looking mighty bleak.  They may flourish now, but ETERNITY for them will be ANYTHING but prosperous.  It will be worse than the mind can conceive.

 

However, the future for the righteous of God is VERY PROSPEROUS and the righteous is EAGERLY awaiting the time when the Creator of this world will bring justice upon His creation.  A time when they can finally go home to their rewards, a time when they will be with the Father and Son for ALL of ETERNITY and receive their eternal inheritance.

Which group are you a part of?  If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are NOT a part of the RIGHTEOUS.  But you are a part of the WICKED, whether you are prosperous in this life or not.  The criteria for being righteous is whether or not you have given your HEART and LIFE to God, if not then you are His enemy and are a part of the wicked.  But you have the opportunity to change your status NOW  by: CONFESSING  your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and become a part of the righteous.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
