Philosophy versus Wisdom Based on Christ!

 

 

Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elemental forces of the world, and not based on Christ.--------Colossians 2:8

 

 

It’s amazing to me how gullible some people can be.  They LISTEN to and FOLLOW vain and false teachings because it either tickles their ears or they are so captivated by the false teachings that they can’t discern the TRUTH from the LIES. 

 

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Colossian Christians, warns them to not let themselves be taken captive by the philosophy and empty deceit or foolish arguments, which may SOUND wise, but in all actuality they are only human teachings of worldly origins.

 

Satan has always had very cunning and deceitful ways of trying to lead God’s Children astray.  Probably the most common thing he uses is to get into the mind of the believer that is immature and weak in their faith.  And he carries out his plan using FALSE teachings that might sound wise, but those teachings will lead one down the path to destruction, heartache, and despair.

 

When a believer is not grounded in the word of God they become easily swayed by EVERY wind of doctrine and are inclined to take it as the gospel truth.  They will become confused and will more than likely, fall into the trap that Satan has set for them.  They will not be beneficial to the Kingdom of God, but will become a danger to the new converts, especially if they are allowed to teach or preach in our churches. 

 

It is VERY important that those who are MATURE in their FAITH become mentors to those who are NEW or IMMATURE in their faith.  The MATURE believer should impress upon the NEW and IMMATURE believers the importance of READING and STUDYING the Word of God.  Knowing what it says and means is VERY conducive to the Spiritual growth of the believer.  There is NOTHING more disturbing and destructive to the work of Satan than a believer that is GROUNDED in the Word of God.

 

If you are NOT a believer, then Satan has held you captive to the ways of the world and its teachings, and you are in danger of continuing down the path to destruction, heartache, despair, misery, pain and unending torture.  However, Jesus can set you free from your captivity if you will:  CONFESS your sins to God and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and be set free from Satan’s mind games.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
