Consecrate Yourselves!

 

 

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”-------Joshua 3:5

 

 

These were the words of Joshua to the nation of Israel, just before their crossing of the Jordan River, on their way to possess the Promise Land.

 

The first thing Joshua told the people to do is to ‘Consecrate yourselves’  they were to make themselves holy, and the way for them to do that was for them to come HUMBLY before God, CONFESSING their sins and OFFERING a sacrifice for the FORGIVENESS of  those sins.  They were to be HOLY as He is Holy.

 

As a Child of the Almighty God, He has done one thing that is the MOST AMAZING thing in your life and that’s bringing SALVATION to your poor wretched soul that was doomed and condemned to Hell.  The way we ‘CONSECRATE OURSELVES’ is to come HUMBLY before God, CONFESSING our sins and ACCEPTING HIS SACRIFICE, the shed  blood of His ONLY Begotten Son, Jesus Christ for the FORGIVENESS of our sins.  There can NOT be FORGIVENESS, without the SHEDDING OF BLOOD from a PERFECT SACRIFICE, one without spot or blemish and that would be JESUS CHRIST, He alone fits that description.

 

Once we have ACCEPTED His sacrifice for our sins, we become ‘CONSECRATED,’ set apart for HOLY use.  But because we are in the flesh we sin and must prepare ourselves to be ‘CONSECRATED’ by the CLEANSING of our sins and the RENEWING of our minds, so we can see God work WONDERS in our lives. This is done daily by coming before our Heavenly Father and CONFESSING our sins before Him and asking for His FORGIVENESS.  Then we need to SUBMIT ourselves to Him for His HOLY service.  And when we do this He will do AMAZING things among us. 

 

If you have not given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are NOT His Child, you are His creation, but you have NOT received ADOPTION into His family and you have NOT received the MOST AMAZING THING, He has done for YOU.  But you can RECEIVE it NOW by:  CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and experience the MOST AMAZING thing He has for you.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
