"A New Heaven and a New Earth"

“A New Heaven and a New Earth”

 

 

But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.   So then dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless blameless and at peace with Him.          2Peter 3:13-14

 

The Apostle Peter wrote this letter to the Christians to whom he had written to before.  He was passionately pleading with them to GROW in Christian MATURITY.  He encouraged them to make every effort to GROW in GRACE and KNOWLEDGE.  Peter encouraged them with the certainty of the return of Jesus Christ.

 

He reminded his readers of the promise of God concerning a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH, a RIGHTEOUS dwelling place for God’s TRUE CHILDREN.  For the Old heavens will disappear and the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 

 

Then God will recreate a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH a place of RIGHTEOUSNESS and HOLINESS.  It will be the home of RIGHTEOUSNESS because the Righteous One will be there.  This is what ALL TRUE BELIEVERS are looking forward to with GREAT ANTICIPATION. 

 

The Apostle Peter then encourages his readers, the TRUE BELIEVERS, to be HOLY and RIGHTEOUS.  To be found SPOTLESS and BLAMELESS, like a sacrificial lamb without blemish or spot, and to be at PEACE with God.  These are all attributes of the divine nature of God’s TRUE CHILDREN.   The TRUE CHILDREN of God need to make it their business to be MORALLY CLEAN, and to strive to be CHRISTLIKE in ALL their ways.  Then they can achieve TRUE PEACE with GOD.

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God then you are NOT a part of His family and will NOT experience the NEW HEAVENS and the NEW EARTH, but you will experience that place called HELL, the place of ETERNAL torment, torture, pain, heartache, agony and despair.  However, God is giving you the opportunity to come to Him NOW, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART for the SALVATION of your soul by: CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, so you too may enter the dwelling place of RIGHTEOUSNESS, the NEW EARTH.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
