“PRAYER:  The Lifeline for Living in Anxious and Uncertain Times”

 

 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.       Philippians 4:6-7

 

We are living in ANXIOUS and UNCERTAIN times.  And a lot of people, to include some Christians WORRY and FRET over their lives and the lives of their children and grandchildren. 

 

We are in an election year, when the results of our voting will determine many things that will set into precedence the laws that will govern our society, and many will determine the lifestyle that will be set into existence for our children and grandchildren, which makes us WORRY and be ANXIOUS.  But the Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians says:  “Do NOT be ANXIOUS about anything, but in EVERY situation, by PRAYER and PETITION, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  To WORRY and be ANXIOUS over situations, many of which you have NO control over, is a SIN.  It is, in essence, saying that you don’t have FAITH and TRUST in the ALMIGHTY GOD, who in MOST cases, is the ONLY ONE who can change things.  To be CONCERNED is a much better mindset than to be ANXIOUS.

 

The Apostle Paul then instructs us on how we should voice our concerns to God.  We must come before Him with a PRAYERFUL attitude, and PETITION, making our requests known, with THANKSGIVING, the attitude of a THANKFUL HEART for what God is going to do, in response to the requests that are made. 

 

When we come to Him this way we will then be able to experience the PEACE of GOD, which goes BEYOND ALL understanding, which means it is MORE than the mind can comprehend or the human heart can hold.  This PEACE will GUARD or PROTECT your HEARTS and MINDS  in Christ Jesus, until we are RAPTURED out of this ANXIOUS, WRETCHED, SIN-LADEN WORLD.

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, and received the SALVATION of your soul, then you live with ANXIOUSNESS and FRETFULNESS, and possess NO PEACE, but will reap the HORRENDOUSNESS of Hell for ALL of eternity, with NO WAY of ESCAPE.  However, God is offering you the opportunity to come to Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him, and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and be NOT ANXIOUS about ANYTHING, but by PRAYER and PETITION, with THANKSGIVING, make your REQUESTS known to the ALMIGHTY GOD who is ABLE.  And receive the PEACE of GOD, which GUARDS your MINDS and HEARTS.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
