“Do Not Forget!”

 

 

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends:  With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.  The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.  Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.        2Peter 3:8-9

 

The Apostle Peter is encouraging the believers to NOT forget that God’s timing and man’s timing are not the same.  God sees time differently than man.  So to Him there hasn’t been a long waiting time for the return of Jesus Christ.  He is NOT slow in keeping His promise.  It will HAPPEN, when He is ready and on His own time schedule.  Again God’s time and man’s time are totally different.

 

God’s time schedule is governed by His PATIENCE, which is a MAJOR divine attribute of our Heavenly Father.  It is His desire that NO ONE perish, but that EVERYONE would come to Him for their REPENTANCE. 

 

Being the ALL-KNOWING God, that He is, He knows that is not going to be the case.  Not EVERYONE will come to REPENTANCE, but being the LOVING, COMPASSIONATE, CARING, GOD that He is, it is STILL His desire that as many as possible come to a SAVING KNOWLEDGE and REPENT of their sins, and NOT be LOST and DYING, and on their way to an ETERNITY in Hell, the place of perpetual, torment, torture, pain, and agony. 

 

Jesus Christ is coming SOON!  He will RETURN to RAPTURE the TRUE BELIEVERS, then seven years of TRIBULATION will occur, after those seven years, Jesus Christ will return to set up His Millennial Kingdom, if you survive the RAPTURE and the TRIBULATION, and are able to enter the Millennial Kingdom, you might have the opportunity to be SAVED, but after the Millennial Reign there will be NO MORE opportunity to come to Him for the SALVATION of your soul.  You will be HOPELESSLY LOST and sentenced to an ETERNITY in HELL.  This is for REAL!!  Are you willing to gamble with your destiny?  NO ONE KNOWS when He will return, it could be today. 

 

God is giving you the opportunity NOW, to come to Him and give your HEART and LIFE to Him.  You can do that by:  Coming to Him with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and receive an ETERNITY in Heaven.  REMEMBER THESE THINGS, DO NOT FORGET!!  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
