“The Hiding Place”

 

 

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.       Psalm 32:7

 

We are living in PERILOUS and TROUBLED times, and from the way things are going, it may intensify even more. Therefore, we MUST run to a place of refuge, and protection, a HIDING PLACE of sorts.

 

The Psalmist, David, offers us HOPE in this Psalm.  In verse six, he speaks of the FAITHFUL praying to God, while He may still be found, then, saying:  “surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.”  The MIGHTY WATERS being the PERILS and TROUBLES that are approaching the TRUE BELIEVER.  Then in verse seven, he gives HOPE for the protection of the TRUE BELIEVER, the PROTECTION or REFUGE, is our HIDING PLACE, which is the Almighty God.

 

When we are bombarded with the PERILS and TROUBLES of the day, we have the ASSURANCE of a HIDING PLACE, where we can go to escape from those MIGHTY WATERS, that are about to swallow us up and drowned us in DESPAIR and HOPELESSNESS.   We can run to that MIGHTY TOWER, our HIDING PLACE, and receive refuge and safety from ALL our PERILS and TROUBLES, which so easily besets us. 

 

Then we can SING PRAISES to our GOD for providing the HIDING PLACE, and restoring our HOPE and FAITH to continue in our walk with Him.  It brings GREAT JOY to the HEART of a TRUE BELIEVER to be able to OVERCOME the PERILS and TROUBLES that this life brings.  And therefore, we have SOMETHING to SING about.

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are treading in DEEP, MIGHTY WATERS that are threatening to drown you in DESPAIR and HOPELESSNESS.  However, you NOW have the opportunity to be RESCUED and given the ASSURANCE of a HIDING PLACE, where you can find HOPE and FAITH in the ALMIGHTY GOD.  You can be RESCUED by:  Coming to God with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART, CONFESSING your sins to Him and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT God’s gift of SALVATION, and become a TRUE BELIEVER, who has a HIDING PLACE to run to, in order to escape the rising of the MIGHTY WATERS.  Do it NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
