Clothe Yourself With Christ!

 

 

Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.  Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.--------Colossians 3:12-14

 

 

God chose us, His Children, to be His holy people, because of His great love for us (Ephesians 1:4).  And therefore we MUST put on or clothe ourselves with the following attributes:  tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, all of which are the attributes of God. 

 

Then we are to ‘make allowance for each other’s faults, and to forgive anyone who offends us.’  Now this is not an easy thing for us to do, because we are in the flesh and we tend to lean towards doing the things of the flesh, which would be to lose our patience with those who are at fault and to want to take revenge against those who have offended us.  However, we are reminded that the Lord forgave us, so we MUST forgive others.

 

If we take the title of “Christian,” which means:  “Christ-like” then we MUST clothe ourselves with:  Forgiveness, tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.   And above all, we MUST clothe ourselves with LOVE, which binds us together in PERFECT harmony and unity.  Then we become a STRONG, UNIFIED force that is able to overcome the forces of evil, through the work of the Holy Spirit, when we surrender our whole being to Him. 

 

If you have NEVER given your HEART and LIFE to Jesus, then it would be extremely hard for you to clothe yourself with:  Forgiveness, tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  And you are exactly who Satan wants you to be:  Unforgiving, unmerciful, unkind, proud and arrogant, harsh, and impatient with hate being the motivation for your actions.  But, you can change and become the person God wants you to be, by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of Salvation and clothe yourself with, forgiveness, tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience that is all motivated by LOVE.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
