The Way of the Wicked
The
sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the Lord, but the prayer of the
upright is His delight. The Lord is far
from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but
He loves the one who pursues righteousness.--------Proverbs 15:8, 29, 9
There are
two groups of people that these verses are pertaining to. One is the wicked, who are those who have
NEVER given their HEART and LIFE over to the Lord, but prefer to live a sinful
lifestyle. The other group is the
righteous, those who HAVE given their HEART and LIFE over to the Lord and
desire to live a righteous lifestyle.
In these
verses we see the difference in the heart of Almighty God concerning His
dealings with the wicked and the righteous.
Some who are living a sinful lifestyle, may be playing a game by
claiming to be righteous, and carry out the acts of a righteous person, but
they have NEVER truly given their HEART and LIFE over to God. These verses tell us that to Almighty God,
those acts are detestable. But the act
of prayer of the righteous is His delight.
They tell us
that the Lord is far from the wicked. In
other words, He does NOT hear or respond to the prayers of the wicked or
sinful, unless it is FIRST the prayer of REPENTANCE, but He hears the prayer of
the righteous. So for all that are
living a sinful lifestyle and have NEVER truly given their HEART and LIFE to
God, you can have your name on a thousand different church membership rolls and
sit in a pew every Sunday and offer up prayers, but those prayers go unheard by
God, until you pray the prayer of repentance and TRULY give your HEART and LIFE
to Him.
The last
verse that we have, says that the Lord detests or hates the way of the wicked,
but He loves the one who pursues righteousness.
Our God is a Holy, Righteous God and it is His desire that those who
belong to Him, live a holy, righteous life, that doesn’t mean that we will live
without sin in our life, as long as we are flesh and blood, we are going to
sin, because the flesh is weak. But it
means that we FLEE from sin and PURSUE or run after righteousness. Our desire should be to live a righteous
life. So we can please our Heavenly
Father and have the assurance that He hears and accepts our prayers and
worship.
If you have
NEVER given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you are one of the wicked. You may
feel that you have lived a good moral life and that you are on your way to
Heaven, but I am here to tell you that my Bible says that our salvation is not
by works we have done, but by the work that Jesus Christ has done on the cross
to redeem fallen mankind. Jesus said
that NO man can come to the Father, but by Him.
So if you have NEVER truly given your HEART and LIFE to Him, you can
come to the Father NOW, and change your title from wicked to righteous by: CONFESSING your sins to God and asking for
His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for you and is
alive, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift
of SALVATION. Do it NOW, while you still
can. He’s waiting!!!
