Servant of the Lord or Servant of the Devil?

Servant of the Lord or Servant of the Devil?

A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.  Gently instruct those who oppose the truth.  Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.  Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap.  For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.--------2Timothy 2:24-26

As Children of God, we must also be ‘servants of God,’ able to conduct ourselves in a manner that would be pleasing and would honor Him. In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, he lays out certain guidelines for the servant of the Lord.

The very first thing that he instructs the servant of the Lord to do is to NOT be quarrelsome, but to be kind to EVERYONE.  This is something that most people struggle with, but thanks be to God, for the work of the Holy Spirit that indwells us, we can accomplish this by allowing Him to work in us and to set our own nature aside so He can do what is required of us.

Paul’s instructions are that we should be able to TEACH, and be PATIENT with difficult people.  Now I know you are thinking; “that’s impossible to do!”  But again, when we allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us we are able to do WHATEVER God wants us to do. Because when we are submissive to His Spirit, we are allowing the Holy Spirit to CONTROL our nature, and we take on the attributes of our Heavenly Father.

Paul also says that we should GENTLY instruct those who oppose the TRUTH. When we are witnessing to people who are NOT saved and who are intent on ignoring God’s TRUTH, we should again ALLOW the Holy Spirit to work through us to be able to GENTLY instruct them and perhaps change their hearts to being receptive to the TRUTH and maybe they will come to their senses and be able to free themselves from the devil’s trap and his plans for them to be his servant.

If you have NEVER given your HEART and LIFE to the Lord, then you are one of those people who are trapped by the devil and you are doing whatever he desires for you to do, which makes you his servant, and the devil and his servants are destined for an eternity in Hell, which is void of ANYTHING good.  It is a place of torment, torture, misery, and suffering, the likes of which mankind could never imagine.  But you NOW have the opportunity to have yourself freed from the devil’s trap and to leave his servitude and destiny, by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and enter His service and become a servant for the Lord.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
