Hiding From God, Are You?

 

 

I can never escape from Your Spirit!  I can never get away from Your presence!  I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night---but even in darkness I cannot hide from You.  To You the night shines as bright as day.  Darkness and light are the same to You.--------Psalm 139:7,11&12

 

 

Our God has many different attributes.  One of those attributes is that He is omnipresent, which means that He is: present in ALL places at the SAME time. And having this ability means that wherever you go there He is.  You cannot escape His presence.

 

If you climbed the highest mountain and hid in the deepest, darkest cave, He would be right there with you.  Or if you could dive into the deepest, remotest part of the vast oceans, He would be right there with you.  No matter where you go or how hard you try you cannot hide from Him. 

 

Now to the Child of God this news can be a little bittersweet, because to know that He is always with us and we are always in His presence can give us consolation in our times of despair or need.  But when we have sinned or when we are in the process of sinning, we should come under conviction and remorse for our behavior and should repent immediately.  And all of the conviction and remorse comes from the Holy Spirit of God that is indwelling us, therefore we are CONTINUELY in His presence.

 

Have you ever noticed that a lot of sin is done in the cloak of darkness?  Because people don’t want anyone to know what they are doing.  They think if it is dark enough, the darkness will hide their indiscretion, and to some extent it might be hidden to the human eye.  But NOT to the eye of Almighty God, because to God there is NO darkness.  The Psalmist says:  “I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night-----but even in darkness I cannot hide from You.  To You the night shines as bright as day.  Darkness and light are the same to You.”   So you see that trying to hide yourself or your actions in the cloak of darkness is impossible to the ONLY one that can bring eternal damnation to your soul, the one who you should really be concerned about knowing what you are up to, because He sees and knows everything you see, think and do.   YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM GOD!!!

 

If you have never given your HEART and LIFE to God, and are trying to hide yourself and your sins from Him.  STOP IT!!!  You can’t do it.  But you can change your destination from an eternity in Hell to an eternity in Heaven, by:  CONFESSING your sins to God and asking Him for His FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING, with ALL your HEART that Jesus died for YOU and is ALIVE, in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God, then ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and come out of the darkness and into His glorious light.  Do it NOW, while you STILL can.  He’s waiting!!!
