“A Living Sacrifice”

 

You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.  My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.      Psalm 51:16-17

 

On this SPECIAL DAY, our minds are centered on those who GAVE their lives, in battle, to PROTECT and SUSTAIN the FREEDOMS of EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN.  Our hearts SHOULD be filled with GRATITUDE to their HONOR, for their heroic deeds, and their desire to DEFEND and PROTECT our GREAT NATION.

 

Our HEARTS SHOULD be filled with LOVE and GRATITUDE to the One who became the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE for ALL of MANKIND, the Lord Jesus Christ.  He not ONLY DIED, but He was/is the VICTOR over DEATH and the GRAVE, because He was RESURRECTED from DEATH and the GRAVE, and is ALIVE, and sitting at the RIGH-HAND of God, forever making intercession for us.  He GAVE His LIFE for YOU, personally.  In order for you to have ETERNAL LIFE in Heaven, with ALL its BLESSINGS.  

 

So as the Psalmist David says:  WE should offer our WHOLE SELVES to God, our SACRIFICE should be a BROKEN SPIRIT; a BROKEN and CONTRITE HEART.  He doesn’t desire a MATERIAL SACRIFICE, such as, our wealth or our earthly belongings.  He desires a BROKEN SPIRIT, a spirit that is HUMBLE and TRULY REPENTANT of its sins.  A Heart that is CRUSHED and SEEKING FORGIVENESS of the sins. 

 

The Apostle Paul tells us that; we SHOULD OFFER our bodies as a LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY and PLEASING to God---this is your TRUE and PROPER worship.  (Romans 12:1)  Have you come to Jesus Christ with a BROKEN SPIRIT, and a BROKEN and CONTRITE HEART?  Are you WILLING to become a LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY and PLEASING to God? 

 

You can be a LIVING SACRIFICE to God if you will TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  BELIEVING that Jesus DIED for YOU and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then you MUST CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and then be a LIVING SACRIFICE to GOD, one that is HOLY and PLEASING to Him, and will receive an ETERNITY in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
