“Shipwrecked Faith”

 

Holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.       1Timothy 1:19

 

This passage of Scripture is part of Paul’s charge to Timothy, it was advice for Timothy’s ministry in Ephesus.  We live in a DARK, DEPRAVED world, full of WICKEDNESS and DESPAIR, for the TRUE BELIEVER to be able to SURVIVE and MINISTER to this LOST and DYING world, there are some things that they NEED, and two of those things are a STRONG and STEADFAST FAITH In the LIVING GOD, and to have a GOOD, CLEAR CONSCIENCE. 

 

A person with a WEAK FAITH is struggling with a SHIPWRECKED FAITH.  Because we are struggling NOT against flesh and blood, but against the devil’s schemes, and against the powers of this DARK world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. MANY have fallen in the battle because they have NOT HELD onto their FAITH, but in some cases they have allowed the devil to WEAKEN their FAITH, and unable to EXERCISE their FAITH, they have SHIPWRECKED their FAITH, leaving them vulnerable to the Devil’s schemes and devices. 

 

In order to HOLD ON to your FAITH, you MUST be prepared for battle.  To do this, you MUST be FULLY EQUIPPED by putting on the FULL ARMOR of God, so that you may be able to STAND YOUR GROUND!  You MUST STAND FIRM with the BELT of TRUTH buckled around your waist, and the BREASTPLATE of RIGHTEOUSNESS in place, and with your feet fitted with READINESS that comes from the GOSPEL of PEACE. And take up the SHIELD of FAITH with which you can extinguish ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Then put on the HELMET of SALVATION and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the WORD of GOD.  And PRAY!  PRAY!  PRAY!  Now you are READY to do battle and SURVIVE with a STRONG FAITH, and NOT a SHIPWRECKED FAITH.  (Ephesians 6)

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you’re on your way to an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  And if you have any FAITH it is more than likely in OTHER PEOPLE or YOURSELF, or in MATERIAL THINGS and even SELFISH AMBITIONS, ALL of which are NOTHING more than SHIPWRECKED FAITH, which will ONLY bring you HEARTACHE, MISERY, and DESPAIR.  In order for you to ESCAPE an ETERNITY in HELL, you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART. Then you MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  And ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and have a STRONG, STEADFAST FAITH in the LIVING GOD.  Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
