“Be Prepared”

 

But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.   For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.       1 Thessalonians 5:8-9

 

I believe that we are TRULY living in the LAST DAYS, and as we, who are TRUE CHILDREN of the LIVING GOD, look forward to the RAPTURE of the body of Believers, we NEED to be PREPARED for what lies ahead.  I believe the Apostle Paul gives us some guidelines to follow in these LAST DAYS. 

 

First, he tells us to be SOBER, this means we should have SELF-CONTROL.  He instructs us to put on a breastplate of FAITH and LOVE.   The breastplate, which the Roman Soldier wore, went from his neck to his waist, and it protected his vital organs.  FAITH in God, protects INWARDLY, while LOVE for others protects OUTWARDLY.   FAITH and LOVE go hand in hand, and cannot be separated.  When you have FAITH in God, you will LOVE others.  This breastplate of FAITH and LOVE will equip the TRUE BELIEVER for the RAPTURE.   Are you PREPARED with your BREASTPLATE in place?

 

The next thing you should have on is the HELMET of the HOPE of SALVATION.  This will protect the HEAD from attacks on the THINKING PROCESS.  This is NOT wishful thinking, but it is a SURE HOPE of being SAVED from the WRATH that is to come.  That is having a SURE BELIEF that they, the TRUE BELIEVER will NOT go through the TRIBULATION period.  But they will be with the LORD JESUS CHRIST, when the TRIBULATION begins.   Are you PREPARED?

 

There are some who will NOT be PREPARED for what is coming.  It will happen SUDDENLY, and will catch MANY by surprise.  As a TRUE BELIEVER, we MUST BE PREPARED to face ETERNITY.  Have you given your HEART and LIFE to God?  If NOT you will face an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  You will face God’s WRATH, by going through the HORRIBLE period of TRIBULATION, that is, IF you survive the RAPTURE.  Then you will face JUDGMENT and be SENTENCED to ALL of ETERNITY in HELL.  You could ESCAPE this DESTINY NOW, by TURNING AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURNING TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  Then you MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART that JESUS died for YOU, and is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for you, before God.  Then CONFESS your sins to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and BE PREPARED for His RETURN.   Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
