"Be Confident!"

“Be Confident!”

 

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.   This is the confidence we have in approaching God:  that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.        1 John 5:13-14

 

CONFIDENT:  Having ASSURANCE

 

John wrote to the BELIEVING READERS, those who BELIEVE in the Name of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.  He wanted them to be CONFIDENT in the fact that they would KNOW that they HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. 

 

And it is with this CONFIDENCE that we as TRUE BELIEVERS of the Lord Jesus Christ, can approach God in prayer asking ANYTHING, that is ANYTHING that is ACCORDING to HIS WILL, and NOT necessarily to YOUR WANTS.  Now, it could be that YOUR WANTS is ACCORDING to HIS WILL.   Nevertheless, we can be CONFIDENT that He HEARS and He will ANSWER.

 

Living as Christians, in this EVIL, CORRUPT, SINFUL, world is difficult at its best, but BEING CONFIDENT in God’s ABILITY to SUSTAIN and CARE for His CHILDREN, gives us the CONFIDENCE we NEED to LIVE for Him.  Remember, our requests to Him, must be ACCORDING to HIS WILL.  BE CONFIDENT that HE KNOWS what is BEST for us.

 

John, also wants his readers to CONTINUE to FOLLOW the Lord DAILY, so that when He returns to this earth, we can BE CONFIDENT and UNASHAMED before Him at His coming.  And we can have that “KNOW THAT WE KNOW” CONFIDENCE that we will spend our ETERNITY in HEAVEN, with ALL its BLESSINGS.  Are you CONFIDENT of an ETERNITY in HEAVEN?    (1 John 2:28)

 

If you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God, then you do not possess that CONFIDENCE, because you are HEADED for an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS, and NO WAY of ESCAPE.  But you can BE CONFIDENT of an ETERNITY in HEAVEN, if you will TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  You MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and that He is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for you, before God.  Then CONFESS your sins to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  And ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and BE CONFIDENT and UNASHAMED at His RETURN.  Do this NOW, while you still can.   He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
