“If God Kept a Record of Sins”

 

If You, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord who could stand?  But with You there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve You.       Psalm 130:3-4

 

Mankind is born with a sinful nature, and ALL of mankind, those in the PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE, WILL SIN.  There is NO if’s and’s nor but’s about that.  WE ALL stand GUILTY of our sins before the RIGHTEOUS, HOLY JUDGE, God Almighty.  But the Psalmist asks the question:  “If You, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord who could stand?”

 

If the RIGHTEOUS, HOLY JUDGE, God, kept a record of ALL of mankind’s SINS, NOBODY could STAND, if He dealt out the JUDGEMENT that they DESERVE.  Now, you may be thinking that you are a GOOD PERSON, and you are morally upright, you don’t cheat, lie or steal.  So why would you NOT be able to STAND before God, and NOT be JUDGED?   Ephesians 2:8-9, tells us that: “It is by GRACE you have been SAVED, through FAITH---and this is NOT from yourselves, it is the gift of God---NOT by WORKS, so that NO ONE can boast.”  Romans 3:23, says:  “For ALL have SINNED and fall short of the glory of God.”   So we ALL STAND GUILTY before God. 

 

But with God there is FORGIVENESS and NO RECORDS KEPT on those who come to Him for the SALVATION of their souls.  Romans 3:24-26, tells us that; “we ALL are justified freely by His GRACE through the REDEMPTION that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented Christ as a SACRIFICE of ATONEMENT, through the SHEDDING of His BLOOD---to be RECEIVED by FAITH.  He did it to demonstrate His RIGHTEOUSNESS at the present time, so as to be JUST and the One who JUSTIFIES those who have FAITH in Jesus.    Jesus said:  “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.  NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me.”   (John 14:6).  So NO matter how GOOD you think you are, it is NOT ENOUGH.  You MUST COME to God through JESUS CHRIST His SON, in order to RECEIVE God’s FORGIVENESS, and to be able to spend ALL of ETERNITY in HEAVEN.

 

To do that you MUST TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO GOD, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  Then you MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in Heaven, making intercession for you, before God.  Then you MUST CONFESS your sins to Him and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  And ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION, and be FORGIVEN and HEAVENBOUND for ALL of ETERNITY.   Do this NOW, while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
