“God’s Treasures”

 

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.  This inheritance is kept in Heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.        1 Peter 1:3-5

 

The Child of the Living God is a RECIPIENT of God’s Treasures.  They will receive some of these TREASURES when the culmination of SALVATION comes about, which will take place in the LAST TIME.  Some of these TREASURES will be experienced by them at the time of their conversion.

 

Let us look into the TREASURES that are evident in our lives today.  First we have received God’s GREAT MERCY---the fact that He CARES so much about mankind that He is WILLING to FORGIVE them for ALL of their sins and ACCEPT them into His Family, and He has made this POSSIBLE through the DEATH---the SHEDDING of the precious BLOOD of His ONLY BEGOTTEN Son, Jesus Christ, the ONLY ONE who could bring FORGIVENESS and ETERNAL LIFE to a LOST and DYING world. 

 

And through God’s Treasure of His GREAT MERCY, we receive another TREASURE, the TREASURE of NEW BIRTH.  When we come to Him for the FORGIVENESS of our sins and ACCEPT Jesus as our SAVIOR and LORD, we are BORN AGAIN. Born into a NEW LIFE in Him.  A LIFE that will have its ETERNAL HOME in HEAVEN.  And we will be able to ESCAPE an ETERNITY in HELL, with ALL its HORRORS.  This then leads us to another of God’s Treasures, which is the TREASURE of LIVING HOPE.  The Child of God will have the LIVING HOPE, which is based on the LIVING, RESURRECTED CHRIST.  Because He LIVES, we will LIVE also.  The term “LIVING” here, means that our HOPE is REAL, CERTAIN and SURE.  It is NOT like the world gives, an EMPTY, DECEPTIVE, FALSE HOPE.

 

The next of God’s Treasures is an INHERITANCE of ETERNAL LIFE, which can NEVER PERISH, SPOIL or FADE.  This INHERITANCE is as INDESTRUCTIBLE as God’s Word.  And it is KEPT in HEAVEN, where it is WATCHED OVER by God.  It is SAFE and SECURE!   Do you POSSESS such GREAT TREASURES?

 

You do NOT POSSESS them if you have NOT given your HEART and LIFE to God.  But you can POSSESS them if you are WILLING to TURN AWAY FROM your sinful lifestyle, and TURN TO God, with a TRUE REPENTANT HEART.  And you MUST BELIEVE, with ALL your HEART, that Jesus died for YOU, and is ALIVE in HEAVEN, making intercession for you, before God.  You then MUST CONFESS your sins to Him, and ask Him for His FORGIVENESS.  You MUST ACCEPT His gift of SALVATION and receive ALL His TREASURES that He has stored up for YOU!  Do it NOW while you still can.  He’s waiting and coming SOON!!!
